Carwyn Blayney

Carwyn Blayney is a Comedian, Stand Up, Actor and Writer from Ceredigion, Wales.

He is now a familiar face on the London stand-up scene as well as being one half of sketch duo Blayney & Quartey with Ekow Quartey and an Improviser with No Worries if Not Improv.

Carwyn recently starred on BBC Three’s New Comedy Awards, Radio Four’s Live From The UK and in his own sitcom pilot ‘Y Niwl’ on S4C YouTube and BBC IPlayer.

A graduate of the National Film and Television School’s Comedy Writing degree he has written for numerous comedy shows (Sketch and topical) across BBC Radio Four, Wales and Scotland and an alumni of Channel Four Comedy & Little Wander’s Comedy Labs.

About & Credits

Carwyn graduated from the National Film and Television School’s Comedy Writing and Producing course in 2022 and is now based in London as a bilingual performer and writer (Welsh and English) with credits across stage, screen and radio.

Carwyn burst onto the London stand-up scene conquering gong shows including the brutal King Gong before going on to reach the final of Edinburgh’s iconic So You Think You’re Funny in 2023. He has since appeared in BBC Three’s New Comedy Awards, won Welsh Unsigned Stand Up 2024, and performed stand-up numerous times on S4C. Carwyn’s episode of Radio Four’s Live From the UK is currently available on BBC Sounds as well as three-part interview The Comedy Club Interviews. He now performs frequently at some of the city’s top venues including The Comedy Store, Angel Comedy and Big Belly Comedy Club.

From 2024-2025 Carwyn was part of Channel Four Comedy’s Comedy Labs scheme with Little Wander, where the sketch duo Blayney & Quartey was formed (with sketch partner, Ekow Quartey).

Carwyn is currently starring as a Presenter / Comic in S4C’s Ar Led, a sex education show which is currently available on BBC IPlayer. He also played the part of Huw in Caryl Burke’s Sitcom pilot RSVP, also for S4C and BBC IPlayer.

As a writer, Carwyn has written for numerous theatres including touring a short comedy Wisgi for Theatr Bara Caws. He is also a topical and sketch writer and has appeared as a panellist on Radio Wales’ What Just Happened? series 4 and 5.
